Per examine.com, "The primary benefit of undenatured CII appears to be improvement in joint pain, mainly in the context of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis." Do you think available data are strong enough to support use of UC-II? Thanks very much.
Is there a closing window for consuming nutrients post-workout in order to benefit muscle recovery and growth? I am mostly concerned about the beginning and end if a window does exist. For the beginning, do I need to consume protein/carbs within a certain amount of time after exercise? As for the end, does it end when I go to bed or is it a set time like 36 or 48 hours? I am working through your podcasts so I am only 2/3 through so I apologize if this was asked.
Ay Up Huberman, I was wondering what your thoughts are on SARM’s (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator)? I have come across them in my research for overcoming TBI due to the neuroendocrine effects having a dint in my skull has caused. I have never taken them and I don’t plan to but I am curious about them because many people are now taking them instead of using anabolic steroids (which I have also never used). So, • What are SARM’s? • How do they work? • How do they interact with the endocrine system? • What is it about them that promotes muscles growth? • Do they have other more systemic effects? i.e. testosterone is a neuroactive steroid. • What are the side effects of using them? • How do they cause suppression of the endogenous production of testosterone if they are not the hormone of testosterone itself? • Anything else you can think of? I have not taken them because some of them are potent in destroying ones own endogenous production of testosterone, albeit on a sliding scale. Ostarine is said to be minimally suppressive, if at all, whilst others such as S-23 can cause a complete shutdown for some. Regards Jamie p.s. Dr Mark Gordon would be brilliant on your podcast. He treats soldiers who have acquired TBI and he has been a game changer for me (I’m not a solider by the way). He has been on Joe Rogan podcast several times talking about his protocol for treating TBI.
