Nitrites & nitrates

Can you please explain difference between nitrites and nitrates in food? There seems to be quite a lot of confusion around these in general public.

Ultradian Cycles, Chronotypes and sleeping patterns

In previous episodes, it was mentioned that most of us would be able to capitalize on an ultradian cycle around 9:30 am and 2 pm. We could also somewhat 'force' our body into a third one using caffeine and exercise as a tool. This all makes sense but my question is about the relevance of each chronotype. According to my genetic testing, I should wake around 8:50 am, I currently wake at 7 am and would like to attempt to fit three of these optimized ultradian cycles into my day. If I was to take at 7 am how would I achieve this? Also are Chronotypes relevant to our genetic sleeping patterns? Big thanks!

Enhancing stimulant medication effectivenes and reducing side effects

Hi Dr. Huberman, Thank you for the new podcast AMA format! I've recently been prescribed Vyvanse for treating ADHD. I find it's very effective in making me focus at work, but makes me suffer in most other aspects of my life. The main drawbacks I'm experiencing is the short duration (~6 hours compared to the advertised 12-14 hours), physical anxiety, high heart rate and blood pressure leading to not being able to exercise while on it. How do I help my psychiatrist solve these issues? Is there any suggestion I can make? Kind Regards, L

EMDR supplement regime

For someone planning to undergo EMDR therapy, would you recommend to take or avoid certain supplements right before or after a session? Which supplements should we be taking daily thoughout the whole period the sessions are completed, and which to avoid?

Regenerating the eyes.

Hi there, There are considerable effort to bring back vision for patients that have degenerative eye diseases. Stem cells, genetic treatments, optogenetics, light therapy etc. I am particularly interested in research on regeneration of the retina. There are several exciting opportunities here. For example: Derek Van der.kooy's lab discovered the retinal stem cells. Another more commercial example is Jcyte from California. However, as I am not educated on these topics, I wonder what are your thoughts on therapeutic benefits of these sorts of stem cells for retina regeneration. I dont really understand the effectiveness of these promising therapeutics. How much vision can a patient hope to regain. I guess I am asking a broad question. Looking forward to your answer. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Varun
