Are sauna blankets as effective as traditional saunas? Most blankets can only go to around 167F, which is less than the optimal temperature that you suggest. Given this lesser maximum temperature, how would you adjust your deliberate heat exposure protocol to achieve similar results? Thank you.
You mentioned an upcoming episode on decision fatigue. Perhaps related, could you address the experience of multiple approach-avoidance conflict. I first encountered this concept as an undergrad, and it resurfaced years later when a clinician suggested it might explain distress I was experiencing over a career decision. The intensity of conflict and the resulting vacillation was incredibly exhausting, much like the vacillation observed in Miller’s rats. There is not much advice to go on: don’t rush important decisions, try out decisions partially, look for compromises, and make a decision and live with it. Is there anything new to say about the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon from a neuroscientific perspective? Are there any new strategies or protocols that could be beneficial for someone experiencing it? How might conflict and trauma interact? With thanks for your incredible work.
