Stamets Stack (Psilocybin)

I recently switched from micro to macro dosing psilocybin for treatment resistant depression due to trauma (three sessions and the experiences have been profound--during and following. Your podcasts on psilocybin and ketamine were excellent! Ketamine caused me extreme sleep deprivation; it took months for the effect to diminish. The Stamets Stack incorporates taking Lion's Mane and B3 for an enhanced therapeutic trip. What I experienced was complete consciousness in a body effected by psilocybin. My sub/unconscious was not able to be accessed for the first 2 hours, it was as though there was a barrier and the full experience was dampened (in comparison to what I felt previously). Hard to describe, but it was like being completely aware, conscious, "here"...trying to "disconnect" my mind was akin to a car trying to start, but can't quite get the juice it needs to rev and go. Do you know of others reporting Lion's Mane over rode their psilocybin experience? NB: I had genetic testing done last year via PillCheck because I do often have very unusual, rare, and sometimes allergic reactions to various medications. I hesitate to try again as a baseline, because the experience was so frustrating.

calcium carbonate

I was wondering if you had any information on the negative effects of calcium carbonate supplements. I take around 600 mg a day to help deal with heartburn and was wondering if that is safe. I recently saw a study done about calcium carbonates effect on the brain and am worried. as always thank you andrew.

Is Fadogia and Tongkat cycling necessary?

Is the 3wks on 1wk off cycle for Fadogia Agrestis and Tongkat Ali at your recommended dosages(Momentus Sups) absolutely necessary? That is the only thing that changes in my regimen and on my “off” week I have noticeable drops in energy and motivation.

Salt Supplementation

I've been hearing a lot of mixed science on supplementing with salt (e.g., something like LMNT) daily. A few questions: 1. When does it make sense to supplement vs. not? 2. What are the risks of supplementing? (e.g., don't do this is you have high blood pressure) 3. What are the potential benefits? 4. What are the indicators that you should be supplementing? (e.g., is there a test I can run to find out if I should be supplementing?) Additionally, I saw a New York Times article and TED talk where Dr. Jens Titze (Duke University) discussed an experiment studying long term salt supplementation - some of the results from that were that subjects on the high sodium diet: 1. Drank less water and produced more urine 2. Liver started producing more urea (to produce more urea, the liver needed more energy) 3. Subjects were hungrier and therefore consumed more calories (when not restricted) 4. When calories were not restricted the subjects gained weight, when the subjects were calorie restricted, they lost weight but the weight loss came from muscle tissue (due to nitrogen rich energy needed to produce extra urea for the liver) Dr. Titze recommends not supplementing with salt if you are on a diet because you will be hungrier (tempted to eat more calories) and if you do restrict calories the weight loss will come from muscle mass not fat. Thank you in advance.

Ashwagandha for deload weeks

You have suggested using Ashwagandha during periods of increased stress as a buffer. As a competitive athlete might of ashwagandha be of use to help assist recovery in a deload week. On the one hand it seems like it might not make sense as a deload week is a period of decreased training stress rather than increased. On the other hand, the goal of a deload week is to reduce stress and recover for the next block of training and ashwagandha could help with that. What are your thoughts/recommendations on this?
