I am curious to know most effective study habits/patterns for long-term retention. I recently started vet school and employ tactics such as snowballing, writing out/speaking an explanation of a concept, and trying to apply the concept to real-life scenarios. On days where I need to study a long time, I'll do 30min "on" 5 min "off" with an extra long break after the 3rd block. I still feel like a lot of things (especially terms rather than concepts) don't "stick", and am wondering what the most effective way to learn is.
