Would love to hear your take on tools that could help as well as the scientific mechanism behind MD. It's a very under-discussed topic, even though a lot of people report having MD. There is a lot of overlap with ADHD. My opinion is that the main reason for the overlap is the likelihood that in both cases, we have a large dysregulation of dopamine (I do not rule out the possibility that the same person has ADHD as well as MD) Looking at my personal experience with MD, the feeling of emptiness and inability to focus was a big theme in my life. Indulging in MD for a long time (40% of my day) led to a situation that I had no "strength" (will, focus) for anything else (especially more complex tasks). It seriously affected my life, especially in the field of socialization and productivity. The things that have helped me significantly are therapy, open discussion about MD, understanding dopamine, understanding emotions and proper regulation of them (something I'm still working on) ... I would like MD to be mentioned more in scientific circles, so that people would have better guidance in facing this growing challenge. Thank you.
You have brought in so many wonderful guests, thank you. I recently listened to a few psychologists who are using HRV based training for managing and controlling anxiety and panic. What are your thoughts on these? There are also new devices that use HRV for stress management. Would you cover this topic in one of your podcasts, please?
