TMS Coil and Restless Leg Syndrome

Is there anyone doing research using TMS Coil technology for RLS?

Knowing what side is right or left

Are there any neurological reasons why some people cannot at once tell which side is right and which is left? In my case I simply don't know intuitively - I have to think and deduce side basing on things I usually do with right or left hand (what's more funny I only know this is right or left hand because I learned before that I do this things only with this hand :))

Rapid cooling or warming of a medical patient

What is the fastest way to rapid cool or heat a pt who is clinically hyper or hypo thermic? You mentioned our palms, soles and upper half of head do not have capillaries and are excellent locations for cooling/warming. As a paramedic I have always been taught to place ice packs on major arteries.. the groin, armpits and neck. I’m wondering if one is better than the other? Thoughts? I listen to EmCrit quite often and would love for you and Scott Weingart to hash out some best practice ideas for us First Responders! Thanks for your time! Mandy

Saturated fat and coconut oil

Saturated fat is known to be bad for metabolic and cardiovascular health. However, many "health experts" say that coconut oil, which is very high in saturated fat, is beneficial, including for controlling blood sugar levels and even lowering cholesterol. Which version is more factually accurate based on studies to date? Also, how much MCT does coconut oil actually contain? There is a lot of confusing information out there on its MCT content.

Fasting, muscle weakness, cold and numb extremities

I feel cold far more easily than people around me, particularly my hands and feet, which are often cold to the point of numbness. My doctor could not identify the cause from blood tests and CT scans of arteries. I noticed that when I fast (whether extended or intermittent), the cold and numb sensations become particularly severe. Feeding (particularly carbs) seems to help much more than putting on warm clothes. Is it normal for fasting to cause coldness? Should I avoid fasting and low-carb diet?
