I live in a place where loud work is carried out at night. I can't sleep because of the noise and wake up with high heart rate etc. I now always have a white noise playing throughout the night (AC / fan noise) with the whitenoise I can sleep, because it drowns out the noise. Is it harmful if the brain has to process this white noise throughout the whole night for 8 / 9 hours if I do this every night for years? Can I benefit at all from the effects of sleep (regeneration, rest etc) if a noise is constantly playing, the brain has to process it?
I LOVE the podcast. Thank you so much to you and all the Huberman Lab podcast crew for all your hard work! I have a fun speculative question for you. Science fiction often suggests that someday we may be able to transfer consciousnesses between bodies as a method of life extension. Do you think this may ever be possible, and if so would it likely be like downloading software, or would it most like require transplant of the brain and nervous system?
Are there any known or suspected negative effects of breast implants (or any implants) on health, health-span or lifespan? I am not asking about the cases of serious complications where implants need to be removed etc. I am just wondering about possible (more subtle, but nevertheless impactful in the long term) negative effects on health in those who did not develop those serious complications. Thank you.
