I am legally blind due to a traumatic brain injury I had when I was six months old. This brain injury caused a subdural hematoma which rested on my optic nerves and thus damaged them resulting in reduced functionallity. While I still have a decent amount of functional vision, I am hopeful that one day I will be able to regain more vision and obtain a drivers license. Do you know of any promising research into the field of optic nerve regeneration? What are the main challenges associated with this problem? Do you have any insights/thoughts as to the future of this field?
