Hi Dr. Huberman, I do a 72 hour prolonged fast once per month to keep my immune system healthy. However, an undesirable side effect of a prolonged fast is losing muscle mass given the severe calorie restriction. After doing some "research", I found this article stating that Tim Ferriss took trace amounts of BCAAs (1.5g to 5g) per day during a prolonged fast to maintain his muscle mass [1]. Do you know if taking small amounts of BCAAs during a fast jeopardizes the autophagy benefits? Thanks in advance, Aaron [1] https://fastlifehacks.com/tim-ferriss-3-day-fast-method/
Mr. Huberman, could you please make an episode about ASD., the same as you did with ADHD. (which is extremely useful). Give or take, 1:100 children are born with autism nowadays. There are informations out there, and tons of research. But for some reason, the myths and misconceptions about the disorder are very common. The sources are not reliable and it is very hard to find quality information on this topic. I am a clinical psychologist. Thank you.
