What are your thoughts on healthy adults (age 40+) utilizing Metformin to manage weight? I'm 6' 2" and weight about 200 lbs. I'm also very active, and workout daily. I've read a number of articles regarding the beneficial use, maybe even life extending benefits of Metformin. Is there any strong clinical data to suggest Metformin should/should not be taken by non-obese, non pre-diabetic individuals? Will using Metformin help better manage weight gain for those who are trying to keep off the extra 4-5 lbs that invariably find a way to stick if one isn't strictly following a diet protocol?
What are your thoughts on cold exposure early in the AM before any exercise? Joe Rogan mentioned on a recent podcast that he was discussing this protocol with you and it has benefits. I am aware you don't recommend it after exercise but do the same negative affects (adaptation from endurance/strength work) apply if the cold exposure is done before the workout(s) and are there any benefits to doing it before?
