I am confused about sun exposure. Should I wear sunscreen? I read that sun exposure can be good for vitamin D levels and even hormonal function. But I worry about skin cancer. I am personally very high risk for melanoma, but I also read that melanoma is only related to childhood sun exposure. Should I care if I get non-melanoma skin cancer?
Firstly I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge and for the efforts you put into raising public understanding and awareness about mental and brain health. In your previous episodes about Psychedelics , you mentioned the benefits for depression and MDMA for dopamine and serotonin neurotransmitters. However I remember you didn’t recommend that for people who have bipolar or history of psychosis episodes. I was curious to know for patients with these conditions or people who SSRIs or Ketamine do not work, what type of Psychedelics or cannabis you recommend. Greatly appreciated
I am a senior triathlete and trail runner. I would like to better understand the benefits of prebiotics and probiotics. I'm not sure which to take or whether to take both. Also, which has the better gut health benefits, whether age is a factor as to which to take, and if either has an effect on exercise preformance. Thanks.
Hello! I am a rising senior in high school pursuing a career in research (endocrinology and/or immunology). Please share your experience with your career and its implications on other aspects of your life (leisure time, sleep, social life, mental health, etc). What type of person sticks around and succeeds in your field? What are the most important considerations throughout the career path (connections with professors, research experience, grades, etc)? What is the current demand for researchers relative to the supply? What else should a high schooler know about this career path? Thank you for your inspiration and limitless curiosity! Alice
