Are the effects of masturbation similar to NSDR or beneficial during the day?

Hi professor Huberman. I heard in your podcast many times about the benefits of NSDR during the day to de-stress and reset your mind. I'm interested in knowing whether masturbation during the day can have comparable effects or other benefits. Thank you for such an amazing podcast!

How to re-introduce high-dopamine activities after resetting

After listening to your pocast, I realised how much I have been depending on high-dopamine activities (ADHD medication, video games, binge eating etc), and how those behaviours explain my struggle to find innate motivation for creative pursuits I once loved. As such, I started to remove these things from my life and found that, after the painful initial dip, the improvements have been startling. I'm 2 weeks in and feeling so much better. That said, off the back of that success, I am looking long-term at how to maintain this feeling. The thing is, I sometimes miss those highs! For the 30 days span I committed to, it's easy to say no, but to never say "yes" again feels a little sad. I think you mentioned there's nothing inherently wrong with indulging in the occasional high, only in the repeated pursuit. Can you go a little deeper into how we can allow high-dopamine sources into our life and mitigate the temptation to over-indulge, or endure the pain of the inevitable crash afterwards? Thanks for all you do!

The Influence of Geographic Location on the Re-emergence of ADHD Symptoms in Adulthood

Hello Dr Huberman, I am reaching out to you with some concerns related to adult onset Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). As a brief background, I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and was prescribed Concerta to manage the symptoms. Over time, the symptoms seemed to have subsided, and by my high school years, they were virtually non-existent. However, now, at 29, I find myself grappling with familiar feelings of being unable to focus and feeling overwhelmed, reminiscent of my childhood experiences with ADHD. This resurgence of symptoms has been quite pronounced following a recent move from Los Angeles to a smaller, more rural city in Florida. Interestingly, during my childhood, I resided in a similarly rural setting in Georgia. I am interested in exploring the possibility that my ADHD symptoms have re-emerged. Furthermore, I am intrigued by the potential correlation between the geographical location or the rural-urban dynamic and the resurgence of ADHD in adulthood. Could you guide me towards any research or studies investigating the re-emergence of ADHD in adulthood? More specifically, are there studies that consider the role of geographical environment—rural versus urban—in the manifestation of ADHD symptoms in adults? I appreciate your time.

Dilusions in Humans

Dear Dr Huberman, I regularly watch your podcasts and am a huge fan. I request you to make a podcast on the Topic - Dilusions. In some of your podcasts you ask for inputs from viewers like me to invite new Guest speakers. It would be great if you can make a podcast with Dr John Greene (Expert in Civil / Criminal psychiatry http://johngreenemd.com/ ). Would love to know his views on Dilusions, and his evaluations with patients related to Civil, Criminal cases. Thanks, Priya
