I work an office job where effort/reward cycles are slow and the positive impact of ones effort is not always visible. That results in a daily pursuit and a dopamine investment which is in most cases not compensated with an adequate reward. You put in the hours every day, go home tired and the results are long-term and obfuscated. How to best balance that budget while doing a job that is not inherently satisfying?
