Dear Professor Huberman, I cannot express my gratitude to you enough. I hope that one day i could meet you and kiss your hands for all the great teachings you have taught me. I have been constantly referring you to literally everyone i know and i see you as a mentor and an angel to be honest. God bless you a billion lifetimes. I’m seeking advice on overcoming drug addiction without utilizing a rehabilitation facility. I’m particularly concerned about managing withdrawal symptoms effectively and minimizing the withdrawals . I have seen most of your podcasts and jn particularl with Dr. Anne, however, there was not much info on how to self quit. Could you please tell me some recommended approaches or methodologies, to safely quit and manage the withdrawal symptoms?
In your podcast on Growth Mindset, you clearly talk about the need to de-link performance from identity; praise should be directed at effort and not labels. Whereas I have read other credible literature that says linking your goals to your identity is the best way to achieve them as well as building lasting habits. Eg instead of saying "I want to run a marathon" (linked to goal), say "I am a runner" (linked to identity). I find these two concepts a bit contradictory, how would you explain them? thanks.
