Hi there, There are considerable effort to bring back vision for patients that have degenerative eye diseases. Stem cells, genetic treatments, optogenetics, light therapy etc. I am particularly interested in research on regeneration of the retina. There are several exciting opportunities here. For example: Derek Van der.kooy's lab discovered the retinal stem cells. Another more commercial example is Jcyte from California. However, as I am not educated on these topics, I wonder what are your thoughts on therapeutic benefits of these sorts of stem cells for retina regeneration. I dont really understand the effectiveness of these promising therapeutics. How much vision can a patient hope to regain. I guess I am asking a broad question. Looking forward to your answer. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Varun
