Psoriasis, is it really an illness?

Psoriasis is known as a skin illness but recently doctors are talking about it as an autoimmune illness affecting the skin and related to joints and cardiovascular issues. I wonder if it might be more a symptom of a broader issue rather than just a skin illness. Could you bring us up to date with this matter? Can behaviors improve psoriasis?

Dietary cholesterol

It seems science says dietary cholesterol almost does not affect blood cholesterol and lipid profile. However, people following low carb and high fat diets such as keto usually have higher cholesterol values. How are these two facts matching? Am I misunderstanding something?

Relation between individual and social consciousness

Hi Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., We know that humans are social beings, and that language and cognition are social by nature. I would love to hear your input about the latest research done in the area of neuroscience on individual cognition and social consciousness. Specifically, on how individual brain & nervous system characteristics are connected and affected by social phenomena. My questions: - How may certain neural pathways shaped under the influence of the environment (trauma, substances, social norms, taboo, etc.) and due to internal peculiarities (interoception/exteroception, fight or flight response choice, impulsivity) predetermine the acceptance of certain social ideas and behaviors - ideologies, cults, conspiracies? - How may go/no-go impulses be manipulated by the discourse of fear/threat and channeled at the collective level of action? - What are the criteria for critical thinking and how is it different from the type of thinking that is simply biased against a certain ideology while embracing a different one? Thanks for your kind consideration and for shining the light of science-based wisdom on all of us! Regards, Alex Smirnou (Dubai)

Episode about skin

Hi Profesor! as always, thank you very much for every second of each episode! Today I've got a brainwave - maybe an episode about skin in various contexst would be noteworthy? You've already mentioned few times about skin being our biggest organ etc. but deepest dive into science of skin for sure would be very interesting. Also I bet the protocols for maintaining our skin in best possible shape via behaviours, diets and supplements would be most appriciated. Of course only if if this will not cause as lawsuit from cosmetics companies loosing customers!! :D
