What are your thoughts on healthy adults (age 40+) utilizing Metformin to manage weight? I'm 6' 2" and weight about 200 lbs. I'm also very active, and workout daily. I've read a number of articles regarding the beneficial use, maybe even life extending benefits of Metformin. Is there any strong clinical data to suggest Metformin should/should not be taken by non-obese, non pre-diabetic individuals? Will using Metformin help better manage weight gain for those who are trying to keep off the extra 4-5 lbs that invariably find a way to stick if one isn't strictly following a diet protocol?
Andrew, what are you thoughts on reading a book, protocol, research article while walking? I find it difficult to get a healthy number of steps throughout the day and wanted to read while walking on a treadmill to "kill two birds with one stone". Do you retain as much/more/less this way?
