Hi Dr. Huberman, I've watched a ton of your podcasts including the ADHD and dopamine ones. I guess I still found myself very confused about this but wanted some advice. Here's a little bit of background: I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12, and have taken all sorts of ADHD meds (Ritalin, Vyvanse, Adderal) consistently since then. My longest break from any stimulants was 3 months. Now I am 24 years old, and currently taking Adderal IR (1-2 pills daily (20mg ea)). I've heard so much controversy on whether you should take meds 365 days a year or be on a drug schedule, or if should you even use it at all. I personally want to get off of it, but I literally cannot function without it. I'm scared that if I try to get off of it, I may find that my focus is still very poor and I just wasted months sobering up. I've seen your dopamine video so I know my baseline is very low. I'm just wanting to understand whether it's worth it for me to recover completely from all these stimulants, or should I continue to take them? and if I continue to take them, how can I better manage the depressive crashes when I'm off it?
I use sea salt in my morning water for the sodium part before I head out for strength training. Can you please inform on which type of potassium and magnesium would be best to add to the electrolyte mix and what ratio is ideal for athletes before and after training? Thank you.
I strength train in the mornings fasted with no problem, and prefer it. My question is about fasting the day before. Will my morning training suffer if I fast the entire day before but eat a proper dinner? The dinner would not contain a full day's worth of calories. It might be a half day's or quarter day's worth. Thanks!
