I live in a country that the shortest day of the year is 7 hours 39 minutes, and the longest 16 hours 46 minutes. That means that in the winter, It's pitch black for 2 hours after waking up, and I can see the sunset 6 hours before going to bed. How does it affect my circadian cycle and impact my life? What precautions should be taken for optimization throughout the year?
My father in law is suffering from Macular Degeneration - he first had the untreatable one and it changed into the treatable one (from dry to wet). Nevertheless the treatment isn't helping and he is slowly but certainly going blind. Even though he is 85, he has been very active all his life, even regularly being top of his age group in fitness evaluations. Going blind has incredibly reduced his autonomous range, and he is losing both fitness and quality of life. As a complication he has colitis ulcerosa (treatment is corticosteroids, fairly high dosage). But mostly my question would be: - any known protocol to slow or reverse macular degeneration?
