For the second time in my life I have gotten blood clots. The first time was in 2012 when I was 32 and had pulmonary embolism from an obstacle course race injury, and now again back in May for no known reason. Doctors have never found anything in my blood work/testing that might be a cause. I was kickboxing daily and weight training several days a week before this happened. Now I am struggling to get back into anything consistently. Eight months in to taking blood thinners, I am still getting swelling in my legs after being on my feet to long just walking, or any type of jumping cardio, or after a few days of exercising daily. Recovery from weight training is taking longer, but lifting less weight. I have had weight gain, muscle loss, and my overall stress and anxiety is up from not getting the same level of physical output that I used to rely on as my coping for regular daily stress. Have you heard of anything related to long term fasting autophagy possibly recycling the bad cells forming the blood clots? My doctor doesn't want me to fast on blood thinners, but I think it would help. I don't know if I should ignore him and try, or just quit the medication and try. I don't want to be on anticoagulants forever and since this is a second episode of clots, the medical establishment recommends that I stay on them permanently. I am a 43 year old female and I can't accept that my ability to lift heavy, kickbox or do anything physically risky ever again is going to be limited by a medication. If they could find a cause for the clots maybe I could fix that, but since they can't, I am kind of running blind on what to do about this. I am looking for help in any direction. Thank you. -Queenie
I have been doing this practice for over a year now with you. It works the first time and every time. Have you ever done it multiple times a day or done it for 10-20 minutes? I have experimented with heavy dosages of it (~20 minutes on a weekly basis, in addition to daily small bouts as you have prescribed) and find that it gives more if you give it more. If possible, it may be fruitful to investigate brain activity before, during, and after; and compare results between minimal practice, regular practice, short sessions, and extended sessions. Please publish findings.
