I thoroughly enjoyed your deep dives into alcohol and cannabis, and I have also felt you have provided a lot of information on cocaine through various episodes. Personally, those episodes have had a profound impact on me & my lifestyle habits and I've felt the need to share them with many of my friends who regularly use all of those substances in the hopes that they would be impacted in the same way I was. I would love for you to do a deep dive into MDMA & its effects on the brain and overall health because, aside from cocaine, this seems to be the most widely used recreational drug and people love to claim how 'safe' pure MDMA is. I think we need the Huberman perspective here! Thank you!
I loved the recent episode on long term risks of cannabis and the importance of ratio and strain. I was hoping to clarify though, for pure hemp-based CBD Isolate with adults, so zero THC, do you see similar long-term risks of chronic use? Grateful for all of the amazing content!
My high functioning autistic (+ADHD-I) 19yo son’s autism traits worsened during and after a 3mth period of regular cannabis use at age 17. He was also self medicating at the time with alcohol and dropped out of his final year of school with 6mth before graduation. His health is somewhat better now but I have trouble getting him out of the house. He is doing well at uni but does most of it online (computer science). After listening to your cannabis episode I’m wondering if there is anything that could potentially reverse any impacts the cannabis could have caused? I encourage him to take fish oil, B complex, zinc and Mg.
Your podcasts have changed how I view sleep within the context of health and I have a deeper appreciation for its importance. (Thank you!) In an earlier podcast you referenced Apigenin and its potential benefits for sleep. However, I wondered whether you found this effective on a daily basis or whether your reference was based more on episodic / when travelling or needed basis. That is, is Apigenin effective for sleep if used routinely? Are there risks to daily use? thank you!
