Considering that some foods and macronutrients require more energy expenditure from your body to process them into forms your body can use for energy, why do we not think of net vs gross calories? For example, 4g of carbs from pure sugar will give you more net energy than 4 grams of carbs from a whole wheat food. Or, 4 grams of protein will give you less net energy than 4 grams of carbs. I don't know how this happened to me, but I've become a person who checks Instagram and Twitter far too often, and then scroll far too long when I get there. It wastes times and also makes me feel bad/distracted when I tear myself away. You talked about your great morning routine and it inspired me. Do you have any tools specifically to counteract this urge to check social media? In particular to help me not check social media in the morning. Thank you for this and for the great work you do! - Alisa
Hey Dr. Huberman, I'd love to hear you talk about how one is able to incorporate Knees Over Toes exercises into their overall workout plan. Should these exercises replace all other leg exercises or do they work better as a supplement to current leg workouts? Thanks, Spencer
Cortisol levels drop throughout the day and perhaps goes low midday. And let’s assume most of the population is still in their desk working through waiting for the working hour to end at 5/6. So, what I’m asking is how do we perhaps induce a small spike for the cortisol to make sure we don’t get lazy/unproductive towards the second half of our working hour.
