Seasonal depression & anxiety greatly affects many people in northern climates. It would make a considerable impact on my life if I knew how to manage this since the winter season lasts 6-7 months where I'm from (in terms of weather, temperature & lack of sunlight). I think an episode like this would speak to many people & could make all the difference in some people's lives.
Does HIIT provide any additional health benefits if you’re already playing competitive sports(soccer, tennis, etc) two times a week? I’ve compared my heart rate data of both kinds of exercises, and my heartrate is usually at the same high level (zone 4/5) as the high-intensity part of HIIT, but for a lot longer period. At the same time, I enjoy playing competitive sports a lot more than doing HIIT workouts on my own. This made me wonder if it is really beneficial to keep doing HIIT as well. Side note: I'm also doing strength training 3 times a week. This question is mainly about the cardiovascular health benefits, and the aerobic and anaerobic perfomance improvements HIIT has proven to give.
