Why is nose breathing encouraged during exercise?

I've been practicing nose breathing during exercise. I notice that my heart and respiratory rate are lower than when mouth breathing at the same exertion level - as long as I can maintain it. But I do want to get a clear understanding of the benefits of nose breathing vs. mouth breathing, during exercise, sleep and otherwise. I can't find anything clear on this. This Healthline article cites conflicting studies and what I'm seeing so far is conflicting information on actual benefits. Thanks, Moose

Are you truly convinced by palmar cooling?

According to studies by Dr. Craig Heller, Palmer cooling seems almost too good to be true. If it is indeed more effective than steroids, I feel like I’m missing out by not incorporating it into my workouts. Is the science behind it sound? Are there any other studies that provide more convincing evidence, such as double-blind and controlled experiments.
