Heavy Metals in Omega 3 oils, Nickel in Oats?

Could you give some scientific context on omega 3 oils (fish or algae) containing heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium and lead? Are there any long term damages to be expected by taking significant amounts of omega 3 oils as a supplement (1-2g per day)? Also, i am eating oatmeal every morning and now found out, that it contains large amounts of nickel. Any risks associated with high oat intake?

Donald Hoffman, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Deepak Chopra

Would love to echo the requests/suggestion to interview Dr. Joe Dispenza, as well as the likes of Donald Hoffman or Deepak Chopra! Basically interested in conversations around the intersection of biology / health / "spirituality" / quantum physics. You seem to like to say the terms "woo woo" and "mystical" in a derogatory sense, which is funny, and have also more recently been more open about your own faith in a greater power and appreciation of the great mystery. The combo of all these things feels like a recipe for a truly expansive and wonderful series! Thank you! ~ RG

Apple cider vinegar - influence on the gut and blood sugar

Hi Andrew, As you thank me for my interest in science, likewise thank you for making it digestible! My question is about the ingestion of apple cider vinegar (ACV) and its supposed health benefits. 1. As gut microbiota like acidic environments (per the podcast episode on gut health), does ingesting ACV enhance the gut microbiome in any way? 2. From another source, I cannot recall which, I heard that ingesting ACV prior to eating will help flatten the blood glucose spike that follows. Could you explain how this mechanism functions biologically? Finally, I am also very curious what your thoughts are on ACV, its use and whether you (would) incorporate it in your routine? Seeing as you too do not mind water with a funky flavour, the taste would not deter you as much as it does to most that I know. Thanks for all the hard work you do and happy holidays, Alex

GLP1 anti obesity drugs

GLP1 drugs have beee show to both reduce weight but also cardiovascular disease risk. There is also anecdotal evidence that that can reduce addictions (like smoking drinking drugs). What evidence is there for this, how do they work (could they be impacting dopamine pathway) and could they be having other unwanted effects on behaviour.
